Rebates and support for public light-duty vehicle charging

The Public Charger Program offers rebates for direct current fast chargers (DCFC) and Level 2 charging stations. Get a rebate on light-duty electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for public use. 

Eligibility details

Who can apply:

  • Businesses
  • Indigenous communities
  • Local governments
  • Non-profits
  • Public sector organizations and utilities

Your project site must be:

  • Located in B.C.
  • Always accessible to the public, including to those that use mobility aids
  • Owned by you or a site you have the right to use for at least 10 years

This program prioritizes EV charging stations in:

  • Indigenous communities
  • Rural and northern areas
  • Urban communities with lots of multi-unit residential buildings

Costs incurred before approval are not eligible for reimbursement.

  • Get back up to 75 percent of project costs
  • Indigenous communities can get back up to 90 percent of project costs
