Go Electric Rebates Program overview video transcript
[Narrator] Across British Columbia, organizations are making the switch to zero-emission vehicles — cutting operating costs, reducing emissions, and building a cleaner future.
[Describer] A bridge over a forested river is shown as graphics identical to the narration overlay the image.
[Narrator] The Go Electric Rebates program is a Clean B.C. initiative that helps businesses, nonprofits, Indigenous organizations and local governments transition to zero-emission fleets.
[Narrator] The program was recently updated to work better for industry and communities, including making rebates more predictable and easier to access.
[Describer] Scenic views and vehicle related imagery are continually refreshed and often blurred out behind continued text overlays reiterating the narrators message.
[Narrator] The biggest change is that rebates are now applied directly to the purchase price when vehicles are acquired from an approved seller.
[Narrator] Here’s how it works. To get started, visit the Clean B.C. Go Electric Rebates program webpage.
[Describer] The image includes the title “Step 1” ahead of the words “Visit the Go Electric website.”
[Narrator] From there, check if your organization has a valid business B.C.e.I.D. or register for a new one if needed. Apply online to reserve rebate funds. Once approved, funds are held for up to two months while you select your seller, vehicle and complete your order.
[Describer] The image includes the title “Step 2” ahead of the words “Apply for approval,” with a minimalist website screen showing an approved checkbox with the subtext “Rebate available for 2 months” written on it.
[Narrator] Choose the eligible zero-emission vehicles you want to order through an approved seller.
[Describer] The image includes the title “Step 3” ahead of the words “Choose your vehicles.” Additional text stating “Full list of eligible vehicles available on the Go Electric Rebates program webpage” is shown beside a minimalist web view of a page with a user having selected a vehicle from a few options.
[Narrator] The approved seller then applies online to reserve funds for up to 12 months while the vehicle is ordered and delivered.
[Describer] The image includes the title “Step 4” ahead of the words “Order your vehicle”, with a minimalist website screen showing a vehicle ordered checkbox. Additional text stating “Present your pre-aproval confirmation and order your vehicle – funds will be reserved for an additional 12 months to allow for delivery.”
[Narrator] You then receive the rebate when you pay for the vehicle, and the approved seller applies for reimbursement within 45 days of sale.
[Describer] The image includes the title “Step 5” ahead of the words “Rebate applied directly”, with a minimalist website screen showing a purchase summary of a vehicle with the vehicle price of $130,000, a rebate of $60,000 and an after tax purchase price of $70,000.
[Narrator] Battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell, electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles across all eligible medium and heavy classes are eligible for rebates.
[Describer] Additional text stating “Eligible power trains” is show above three fuels types “B.E.V. – Battery electric vehicle,” “F.C.E.V. – Hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle,” and “P.H.E.V. – Plug-in Hybrid electric vehicle.”
