Across British Columbia, organizations are making the switch to zero-emission vehicles — cutting operating costs, reducing emissions, and building a cleaner future.
The Go Electric Rebates program is a CleanBC initiative that helps businesses, nonprofits, Indigenous organizations and local governments transition to zero-emission fleets.
The program was recently updated to work better for industry and communities, including making rebates more predictable and easier to access.
The biggest change is that rebates are now applied directly to the purchase price when vehicles are acquired from an approved seller.
Here’s how it works. To get started, visit the CleanBC Go Electric Rebates program webpage. From there, check if your organization has a valid business BCeID or register for a new one if needed. Apply online to reserve rebate funds. Once approved, funds are held for up to two months while you select your seller, vehicle and complete your order.
Choose the eligible zero-emission vehicles you want to order through an approved seller. The approved seller then applies online to reserve funds for up to 12 months while the vehicle is ordered and delivered. You then receive the rebate when you pay for the vehicle, and the approved seller applies for reimbursement within 45 days of sale.
Battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell, electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles across all eligible medium and heavy classes are eligible for rebates. Vehicles must be purchased through an approved B.C. dealership, seller or lessor.
Rebate amounts are determined by vehicle class. Class 2B to Class 8 vehicles are eligible. However, pickup trucks are excluded.
Eligible businesses can apply for rebates on up to five vehicles per program year. Indigenous organizations, nonprofits and local governments can apply for rebates on up to ten vehicles per program year and qualify for an additional 20% rebate.
Top up funding can be stacked with other government programs for up to 75% of eligible costs, or up to 100% for Indigenous organizations, local governments, and nonprofits.
Vehicles must be new, commercially designed, registered in B.C., and operate in B.C. for a minimum of 48 months. Leased vehicles with terms of 48 months or longer are eligible, and lease terms less than 48 months can get a pro-rated rebate.
Program funds are added on planned dates. Intakes are ongoing, but may close temporarily if funding runs out before the next release date. There is a 60% cap per vehicle class per intake period, and each intake is first come, first served with no waitlist.
The program is operated by CleanBC and the B.C. Ministry of Energy and Climate Solutions, with a dedicated support team to guide you through every step.

Manufacturers can submit vehicles to be added to the eligible vehicle list. Sellers can apply to become an approved seller and receive training and resources to prepare.

Rebate options and amounts
Medium- and heavy-duty ZEV rebates
- Rebate amounts are based on vehicle class
- Indigenous organizations, local governments, and non-profits get a 20 percent rebate top-up
- Vehicles that get rebates must operate in B.C. for at least 48 months
- Leased vehicles with terms of 48 months or longer are eligible for the full rebate amount. Lease terms less than 48 months can get a prorated rebate amount.

Eligible vehicle list
Class 2B-8 battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell and plug-in hybrid vehicles may be eligible.
- Only approved vehicles are eligible for a rebate
- Vehicles will be added to the list as we approve more
- Medium- and heavy-duty ZEVs that were eligible before the program pause are eligible now
- Pickup trucks are not eligible
Vehicle manufacturers
Vehicle manufacturers can request to add their vehicles to the eligible vehicle list.

B.C. businesses, Indigenous organizations, local governments and non-profits need a Business BCeID to apply.
The Business BCeID verifies your organization so you can apply for a rebate on August 10. You can use an existing Business BCeID if you have one. If you need to register, start the process now.
Don’t forget to plan how to charge or fuel your new ZEV, before you get one.
Rebates for fleet charging are also available.
Vehicle sellers
Register and learn about the program. Then you can offer rebates on eligible vehicles to your customers. Sellers must be located in B.C. and need a Business BCeID to apply.
